The spray parks, including the popular one at Rocky Point Park, run on the city’s usual pattern of 9am to 8pm when open, with the parks page noting they typically remain open into September. The city had not posted year-specific 2026 spray-park dates as of our research, so treat the spray parks as expected but not guaranteed.

Mushrooms at the Museum, Not on the Monday

The Port Moody Station Museum, the 1908 CPR station at 2734 Murray Street, is hosting Marvellous Mushrooms, a travelling exhibit from the Royal BC Museum running July 18 through October 27. The museum opens at noon and closes at 4pm on Saturday and Sunday under its fall-winter hours, and admission is by donation with five dollars kindly suggested.

Plan around the museum’s hard rule: it closes on Mondays and statutory holidays, so Labour Day itself, September 7, is the one day of the weekend it will not be open. Saturday or Sunday, then.

Two expectation corrections, because we see both mixed up every year. First, the Port Moody Farmers Market is a Wednesday event in summer, running 3pm to 7pm at the Recreation Centre lot at 300 Ioco Road through October 14. There is no Sunday market, so do not plan your long weekend around one; the next market after the long weekend is Wednesday, September 9.

Second, Monday is a full statutory closure in Port Moody. City Hall, the Public Library, and the Recreation Complex all close, and waste collection slides one day later for the entire week, so if your pickup is normally Monday, it becomes Tuesday and the rest of the week shifts accordingly.

The Rocky Point parking lots fill fastest late morning through mid-afternoon on long weekends, so come before 10am or after 4pm, or take the walk in from the Moody Centre side.

For the museum, noon opening means a morning trail walk pairs perfectly; the Shoreline Trail east section starts near the recreation complex and loops back toward Murray Street.

And for Monday, plan around the closures rather than into them: trails, parks, patios, and takeout all operate; city services do not. If your week runs on the garbage schedule, set a reminder, because the holiday shifts every pickup this week by one day.
